Our nonprofit school is looking for a Web Developer volunteer .

Our website is built with Wordpress and custom html blocks. We need help cleaning it up, and improving speed & performance.

The Web Developer volunteer will support the System Administrator and Marketing Coordinator with troubleshooting any technical issues arising. The purpose is to ensure that our community has a user friendly experience navigating through our websites.

How You Can Help Us

• Coding Writing and modifying existing code for the front and back-end of our website
• Design Designing user interfaces, navigation menus, and layouts
• Testing Testing web applications to ensure the correct code strings are used
• Troubleshooting Troubleshooting problems with performance and user experience
• Collaboration Collaborating with other team members to find optimal ways to showcase our programs
• Integration Integrating graphics, audio, and video into the website
  
  

How We Can Help You

• This experience can be listed in your resume to help you build your portfolio, and we can give references for work well done! ) We will also provide you with a certificate stating the amount of hours you dedicated to the project.
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
• Experience editing a Wordpress website (content, plugins, styles)
• User interface experience (preferred)
• Availability to start ASAP
• Working laptop and reliable and secure internet connection
• Outstanding attention to detail, thoroughness, and organizational skills,
• Positive, can-do attitude
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to clearly and effectively report data and research results
• Ability to perform under minimum supervision
• Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  
  

This is a remote opportunity!

• Note Volunteers who are contacted will go through a series of interviews and complete a case assignment. The volunteer who is offered the role will be subject to a background check and costs associated with it will be the responsibility of the volunteer.
