Job Summary

The Refrigeration Specialist   will help increase the sales and profitability of refrigeration products and services by developing, quoting and selling refrigeration projects to customers. They will be responsible for troubleshooting refrigeration systems and provide product support for the supplier partners Crescent works with. Working with Crescent team members and the refrigeration customer base, the Refrigeration Specialist will assist in developing contractors, OEM’s and end users through training and support.

 

Essential Functions

· Establish rapport with customers to ensure customer satisfaction and continued sales relationship. Handle all customer requests professionally and efficiently.

· Work with Crescent customers to develop quotes on refrigeration projects.

· Help support all Crescent employees including the refrigeration market support group.

· Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all vendors that you work with.

· Increase sales and gross margin dollars with assigned refrigeration vendors.

· Help to establish a marketing plan before the beginning of each fiscal year.

· Help to increase our service levels, turns and gross margin with refrigeration vendors.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Help develop targeted Refrigeration accounts in each territory and maintain a good working relationship with our major refrigeration customers

· Initiate sales calls with our Territory Managers to help build rapport with targeted customers

· Search for new product offerings

· Quote and sell systems to our customers with the sales team

· Perform refrigeration load calculations for and with customers

· Assist in setting up and performing training classes for Crescent customers

· Help train Crescent personnel on refrigeration products

· Assist in executing the refrigeration marketing plan

· Help to develop stocking strategies for refrigeration product lines

· Help set pricing strategies for refrigeration products

· Developing a strong working relationship with our vendors, and work closely with other key stakeholders to bundle services and products

· Involvement in MCA, SMACNA, RSES and other trade groups related to the refrigeration industry

· Follow up on quotes and review lost sales reports

· Assist in the development of fliers, newsletters and product mailing for CPE customers

 

Experience & Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written skills, and ability to follow directions
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and work with multiple departments and teams to meet appropriate deadlines
  • Ability to work and build relationships with customers, vendors and other employees in a courteous, professional manner
  • Ability to listen and have a clear understanding of customers’ needs, and handle all customer requests professionally and efficiently
  • An exceptional ability to communicate effectively to a wide variety of audiences
  • Ability to work as a team or on your own, when applicable
  • Desire to continue education in the technical and business areas of commercial refrigeration
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and RFP documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite programs: Outlook, MS Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Proficiency in other industry-related software

Educational Experience 

· HVAC/R industry training, certification or college coursework/degree

· Bachelors Degree in Engineering or similar field a plus

· Minimum of ten (10) years experience in Commercial Refrigeration
