Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Family Nurse Practitioner, Adult Gerontological Primary Care Nurse Practitioner - Faculty Full Time / Part Time - Health Sciences Assistant/Associate Clinical Professors Position Overview: The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $160,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. The salary range listed is for base compensation only and may be adjusted depending on qualifications and experience. The salary range does not include variable compensation and is subject to the individual department compensation plan.
The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis seeks innovative and highly motivated doctorally prepared Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. The PMHNPs will serve in a unique role providing clinical care to patients settings such as our nurse led mobile clinic or in refugee health or in a community clinic setting. All faculty in practice are required to also participate in clinical teaching activities, typically precepting, for SON students and fellows, and scholarship or clinical research activities.
- The incumbent NPs will serve as members of the nurse led mobile clinic or in other parts of our growing faculty practice. They will have recognized clinical expertise in the psych-mental health advanced practice services.
- The NPs will be faculty in the Betty Irene Moore SON and may potentially teach in the classroom, clinical skills lab, the Primary Care APP Fellowship program, the mobile clinic, and with learners in the clinic environment. In the clinical practice environment, they will work under the direction of the Clinic leadership in a team-based care environment, precept learners in the clinic, and will also report to the Associate Dean for Practice for practice related issues. This position may also have teaching responsibilities as assigned in the SON programs (DNP-FNP, PhD, MEPN, and PA programs), reporting to the Associate Dean for Academics. The position will also be responsible for developing and/or collaborating in and disseminating scholarly activities and/or research in their areas of interest. Part-time and full-time, non-tenured positions at the Assistant and Associate rank in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor (HSCP) Series or full-time Clinical X Series are available at UC Davis Health, which is located on a modern, 140-acre campus in Sacramento, California. The Sacramento campus is home to the School of Nursing, School of Medicine, UC Davis Medical Center (including a level-I trauma center and burn unit, and a full range of outpatient services), a fully accredited Children's Hospital, and an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center. The budgeted salary range for this position is $145,000 to $165,000. Assistant or Associate salaries are commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. CLINICAL RESPONSIBLITIES:
Successful candidates will provide clinical care to geriatric patients, caregivers, and precept students. Duties will include: - Provides independent advanced level nurse practitioner clinical care to patients in their population for which they are licensed and nationally certified

- Functions as an advanced practice nursing leader in collaboration with others
- Collaborates with leadership and clinic staff to develop systems and methods to assist/improve resource utilization and additional services
- Collaborates with leadership to encourage practice environments that support shared decision-making, employee engagement, and interdisciplinary coordination of care
- As needed, serve as a clinical expert resource for staff and students and provide needed mental health screening such as anxiety, depression, and suicide screenings
- Precept advanced practice students and fellows
- Documents care comprehensively in the electronic health record RESEARCH AND SCHOLARSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participates in collaborative clinical scholarly projects and/or research initiatives or program development and implementation
- Develops or collaborates with others in a program of clinical research depending on whether they are HSCP or Clin X faculty
- Disseminates research or scholarly clinical project findings to national audiences TEACHING, MENTORING & SERIVCE RESPONSIBILITES:
- Teach and mentor students in areas of clinical expertise as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academics and/or Associate Dean for Practice
- Provide service to the School of Nursing, Health System, and University through committee participation as assigned
- Provide service to the community and profession CRITERIA:
A candidate for appointment in the HSCP or ClinX Series is evaluated by the following criteria, which is appropriately weighted according to the primary emphasis on clinical practice and clinically relevant teaching and precepting (ClinX) or clinical teaching and practice and clinical research activities (ClinX) and according to the needs of the school and the individual's responsibilities in the specific discipline. The four criteria are:
- Teaching- classroom and/or clinical skills and precepting
- Professional competence and activity
- Scholarly or creative activity
- University and public service
