In this position, you will engage in both formal and practical training to enhance your knowledge and skills. As you gain experience, your responsibilities will be carried out with greater autonomy. You will assist in conducting inspections and investigations related to the regulation of individuals, businesses, and municipalities that discharge into the waters of the Commonwealth. These will be primarily agricultural cases covered by Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation/Concentrated Animal Operation (CAFO/CAO) permits, non- CAFO, manure management, nutrient management, agricultural complaints and, primarily focused in NRCS targeted watersheds and/or those watersheds with the highest incidence of agricultural operations out of compliance, or in areas as required. This position also supports complaints, compliance, and investigations under Chapter 102, Chapter 105, Chapter 91.36 relating to manure management, local stormwater complaints, other related complaints and supports increased field presence for additional inspections of non-CAFO agricultural operations. You will conduct inspections, issue notices of violations or field orders as necessary for violations identified during inspections in accordance with permit conditions, The Clean Streams Law, and the Department's Rules and Regulations. Participation in public meetings may be required to clarify the Department's positions, commitments, or policies, and to foster a positive and accurate public image.
