Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee and coordinate the daily operations of our warehouses and occasional Millhouse support functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all company inventory, ensuring efficient racking/storage, order fulfillment, staging of products for delivery, and leading a team of warehouse staff. The Warehouse Manager will play a key role in maintaining the quality and accuracy of our lumber and timber products, ensuring timely and accurate customer orders, and optimizing warehouse processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and distribution of lumber and timber products.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and inventory audits.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of warehouse staff, providing training and guidance.
  • Implement and maintain efficient warehouse processes and systems to improve productivity and accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including sales, production, and logistics, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Help perform material handling/tow-motor support, occasional production activities including wood cutting and packing, utilizing Millhouse equipment, saws and other equipment.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations.
  • Help support customer inquiries and resolve issues related to orders and deliveries.
  • Optimize space utilization and warehouse layout to improve efficiency and workflow.
  • Execute your position with attention to detail and an obsession for best practices including a commitment to producing perfect quality outcomes.
  • Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in warehouse management, preferably in the lumber or construction materials industry.
  • Some experience with woodworking equipment including table saws, planers and material handling equipment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in office management software and inventory control systems.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.
