Job Description

Salary: 101,400 - 183,300 USD per year Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited university and 8+ years of experience.
  • Development experience in aerospace or space systems is highly preferred, particularly with payloads such as IR sensors.
  • Experience in defining and executing assembly, manufacturing, and integration plans.
  • Proficiency in system and subsystem testing, including test design, procedure definition, procurement, assembly, execution, analysis, and reporting.
  • Hands-on assembly and integration experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • - Optical Assemblies
  • - Electro-Mechanical Actuation Systems
  • - High-Speed Digital Electronics
  • - Power Electronics
  • - Electrical and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
  • Strong intuition in electrical and mechanical systems engineering and critical thinking; comfortable with ambiguity and adept at transforming high-level requirements into clear design/test objectives.
  • Proficiency in orchestrating the complete design process for both mechanical and electrical projects, ensuring seamless integration and rigorous testing at each stage.
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to work with personnel from diverse backgrounds, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Capability to accurately estimate the complexity and duration of Assembly, Integration, and Testing tasks.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET clearance (U.S. Citizenship is required).
  • Ability and willingness to work onsite in San Diego, California.
Responsibilities:
  • Work from established system requirements and subsystem designs, utilizing engineering processes to develop the system build flow and test operations.
  • Adhere to engineering, lab, and safety standards while assisting engineers in system integration and documentation efforts.
  • Plan and conduct functional, electrical, mechanical, and environmental tests at the subsystem and payload system level.
  • Integrate, troubleshoot, and debug subsystems and the payload system using modern tools and techniques, including electronic, electro-mechanical, and software-based technologies.
  • Identify potential roadblocks and devise solutions, always prioritizing the customer’s needs.
  • Design and execute system and subsystem performance and functional tests.
  • Assess proposed subsystem designs for manufacturability and integration.
  • Evaluate non-conformances to determine root causes and create actionable items for system improvements.
  • Manage the availability of test equipment across different projects.
  • Collaborate with managers and leads to contribute to schedules and other project artifacts as necessary.
  • Create, maintain, and communicate detailed schedules to ensure the team is aware of tasks and deadlines, including resource identification and acquisition.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring new teammates for our high-performing team.
