Job Description

Public Content is a Houston-based public relations, marketing, and consulting firm focused on the future. We're a think tank-style incubator with a singular mission: to build brand awareness and increase revenue by combining a healthy mix of media relations – both traditional and social – big picture consultation, community outreach and content creation.

With a client roster that includes Berg Hospitality Group, the town of Round Top, River Oaks District, and Cirque du Soleil, Public Content is a respected leader in the hospitality, food & beverage, real estate, retail, fashion, arts & entertainment and innovation space.

In this role, under the direction of the Social Media Director, candidates will be responsible for creating highly visible campaigns and garnering ongoing engagement and following. The ideal candidate will have 2+ years of agency experience and a demonstrated track record of developing strategic and integrated social campaigns. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and manage social media marketing campaigns and strategies that increase brand awareness, followers, and engagement for our clients
  • Ideate relevant content topics to reach the company’s target customers
  • Create strong and compelling copy and visual content with strategic and intentional mentions/tags/hashtags
  • Schedule and manage visual content creation for accounts
  • On a daily basis, collect user-generated content, monitor and build relevant followers, and seek out opportunities to create timely, relevant content, especially on Instagram Stories
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users
  • Conduct online advocacy and open a stream for cross-promotions
  • Working closely with the PR/programming team, develop, ideate, and expand community/influencer outreach efforts
  • Oversee design of social media pages
  • Manage promotions and social media boosts
  • Manage efforts in building online reviews and reputation. Monitor and respond to online reviews
  • Analyze and monitor key metrics using social media analytic software (i.e. Hootsuite)
  • Become an advocate for the company in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate
  • Directly communicate and coordinate with clients, vendors, and partners, for all social media content, booking photoshoots, interviews, and more
  • Demonstrate ability to map out a comprehensive marketing plan. Work closely with Integrated Marketing team to build strategies that are proven by testing and metrics
  • Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content surrounding the company. Report notable threats to appropriate management
  • Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns. Analyze, review, and report on effectiveness of campaigns in an effort to maximize results

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Professional experience and understanding of best practices and strategies on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of agency experience in the field of Public Relations, Marketing, Social Media
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to adapt to a brand voice/tone
  • Hands-on experience strategically planning and managing social media accounts
  • Strong verbal skills and ability to interact with clients
  • Basic photography/videography skills required (iPhone counts!); graphic design skills preferred
  • Reliable transportation as frequent visits to capture on-site content and event coverage is required
  • Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and other content creation apps
