General Statement of Duties 

The Senior Staff Accountant role is critical for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the Bank’s financial reporting, with a primary focus on regulatory reporting and investments.  This role is responsible for complex accounting activities and financial analyses in a deadline driven environment.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for all aspects of the Company’s investment portfolio including analysis, reporting, valuation and pledging
  2. Responsible for quarterly call report preparation and filing as well as all other regulatory reporting
  3. Perform variance analyses and prepare account reconciliations
  4. Monitor internal controls over financial reporting
  5. Assists in accounting and reporting on capital, taxes and liquidity
  6. Acts as back up for all daily balancing tasks including reconciliations, cash balancing and liquidity management
  7. Manages administrative functions of restricted stock issuances and vesting processes
  8. Performs all duties conforming with Bank Policies and Procedures surrounding Regulatory Compliance, including BSA/AML regulations and requirements.
  9. Performs backup function for other Finance Positions.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

No direct supervisory duties. Potential training responsibilities of Finance staff.

Position Type/Work Schedule

Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with a possibility of a Hybrid set up after initial training period.  Hybrid defined as 3 days a week in the office and 2 days per week remote.

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

 

Physical Demands

Sit or stand for long periods of time, bending, lifting, extensive keyboarding and driving on occasion.

 

Training and Compliance

Specific compliance training is assigned for this position upon hire, transfer and annually.  It is expected that all assigned training will be completed in the time allotted.

 

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting and/or Finance required
  2. Advanced degree in Accounting and or Finance preferred.
  3. Thorough knowledge of accounting and the workings of a bank's Finance Department.
  4. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with employees and other professionals.
  5. Minimum of two to three years banking experience.
  6. Multi-tasking and work prioritization skills a must.
  7. Ability to prepare Financial & Regulatory reports required by the department
  8. Use and apply GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements
