Location : Plano, TX
Primary Responsibility :
The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing daily and monthly financial processes, including balance sheet reconciliation, inventory management, and monthly financial close. The role also involves understanding and accounting for Canadian Clean Fuel Regulation (CFR) credits, coordinating with tax advisors, and assisting in the preparation of Canadian income tax documents for a newly formed Canadian entity.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and manage Accounts Receivable for month-end close
- Handle inventory summaries and fixed asset management
- Prepare monthly financial reports for internal review meetings
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and variance analysis
- Assist with Borrowing Base preparation for Canadian operations
- Work with the Controller on consolidation and elimination entries between entities
- Learn and utilize the ERP system for logistics and financial management
- Process ACH/Wire payments and manage daily/weekly/monthly financial reporting
- Assist in financial audits and liaise with auditors
- Research and implement accounting pronouncements affecting the business
- Take on special accounting projects as needed
Collaboration :
This role will involve working closely with various departments and teams, including senior management, the accounting team, logistics, and sales, as well as external vendors and customers.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- CPA or CPA candidate preferred
- Basic understanding of hedge accounting, risk, and FX conversion strategies
- Experience with financial consolidations and elimination entries
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
