Senior Principal Electrical Engineer

$80-$95.00 per hour DOE

Here's what you'd do:

  • The client is looking for an Electrical Engineer with a strong Systems Engineering background for our Progeny Business Area.  
  • You will be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for the design and development of components for the next generation of submarine Electronic Warfare systems. 
  • You will directly contribute to the technical success of our programs through hands-on technical contributions and through helping to develop others as technical contributors.
  • Design, analyze, and test RF, analog, and digital electronic circuits.
  • Integrate, test, troubleshoot, and verify electrical hardware.
  • Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems, including test software applications.
  • Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions.
  • Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer.
  • Generate design and interface documentation
  • Develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
  • Performs technical activities that impact the proposal, system-level design, detail design, and manufacture of advanced electronic warfare systems.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Led the development of strategic tasks or small projects by ing engineering and organizational knowledge and expertise to achieve technical goals and objectives.
  • Understands and interprets the technical, organizational and process aspects of the task assigned and can relate them to the technical needs of the overall large project.
  • Actively uncovers technical and organizational risks and ensures they are included in risk mitigation plans

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
  • Minimum of 10 years experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation, and test phases.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in technical project management.
  • Minimum of 10 years Electrical Engineering experience in RF System Design, development, and testing
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in analog and digital circuit design, including signal integrity principles.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Electrical schematic capture and PCB design
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Digital and embedded electronics 
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in Hands-on electronics design, prototyping, and test
  • Minimum of 10 years experience Working with teams across multiple disciplines (HW/SW/Systems)

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience with MATLAB programming 
  • Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
  • Advanced proficiency in testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical staff
  • Comfortable with customer interaction during testing and review
  • Strong documentation and communication skills with demonstrated success in leading design teams for complex projects
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical staff.
