Job Description
The Senior Intelligence Analyst collects information from a multitude of sources utilizing sophisticated analytical software. The analyst detects trends and communicates intelligence to patrol, detectives, and command staff to inform decision making processes. The position seeks patterns, trends, or evidence of criminal or terrorist activity, analyzes intelligence, assesses vulnerabilities, gaps, risks, and potential courses of action. The incumbent disseminates credible and carefully vetted information, establishes relationships, and collaborates with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies.

This position will work onsite at the MSP International Airport-Terminal 1.
This is a safety-sensitive position which will require a pre-employment drug screen and thorough background check.
- Create databases, timelines and link charts for analysis, extracting and verifying pertinent information, managing and organizing information, providing leads, performing data mining, proactively developing targets for further investigation and assisting on search warrants.
- Analyze known offenders' methods of operation and establish timelines to perform suspect/crime correlation in order to provide suspect leads and targets for surveillance or directed patrols.
- Provide analytical support during major case investigations such as lead tracking, link construction and analysis, crime mapping, or other duties as directed.
- Works under urgent demands, priorities, and varied requests to meet frequent deadlines from internal and external partners.
- Provide staff with real-time intelligence during critical incidents.
- Work primarily and directly with a broad spectrum of sworn police personnel, from senior leadership to new officers, as well as other metro area analysts and public safety partners.
- Develop strong professional relationships with partner agencies including other metro area jurisdictions, federal and state agencies, and fusion centers.
- Design, build, and validate relational database queries and extractions using backend data access to multiple department records management systems.
- Develop analytical methods to improve resource deployment and reveal other opportunities for increased public safety and improved administration.
- Identify and report anomalies, irregularities, and opportunities for improving analytical efficiencies and information integrity.
- Analyze long term crime patterns and trends using probability studies and complex statistical analyses such as random sampling, correlation, and regression analysis; develops and tests hypotheses.
- Prepare reports and presentations using maps, charts, crime bulletins, statistics, and graphs to inform department staff of past, present, and future crime patterns to support the efforts of an investigation.

Education Requirements (must have one of the following)- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Statistics, Research Methodology, or a related field and three years of experience performing intelligence analysis including target identification, link analysis, financial analysis, data analysis and modeling.
- Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Statistics, Research Methodology, or a related field and five years of experience performing intelligence analysis including target identification, link analysis, financial analysis, data analysis and modeling.
- In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and seven years of experience performing intelligence analysis including target identification, link analysis, financial analysis, data analysis and modeling.
Minimum Requirements - Strong understanding of applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards pertaining to law enforcement.
- Experience performing forensic electronic data collection, such as cell phone extraction.
- Experience conducting historical financial reviews to identify illegal financial activity and/or money laundering.
- Experience working with CJIS data to include reports, electronic evidence, and performing statistical analysis of crime trends.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, and graphic.
- Self-motivated
- Advanced skill level using Microsoft Excel
- Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Experience reviewing social media or open source data
- Experience working with federal, state and local law enforcement databases
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable vehicle to commute between job sites
- Willing and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary
Desirables - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Forensics, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience performing intelligence analysis including target identification, link analysis, financial analysis, data analysis and/or modeling.
- Experience working with an aviation-based law enforcement investigations environment.
- Certification as an anti-money laundering specialist.
- Certification as an economic crime forensic examiner.
- Experience and or familiarity with card access control systems.
- Certification as a fraud examiner.
- Certification as a Cellebrite mobile forensic examiner.
- Certified Crime Analyst.
- Criminal Intelligence Certified Analyst.
- Experience using GIS mapping.
