Job Summary: The National Gallery of Art is an art museum in Washington, D.C. The Gallery serves the nation by welcoming all people to explore and experience art, creativity, and our shared humanity. The National Gallery uses Information Technology (IT) in the execution of its mission. The information technology services are managed by Treasurer’s office of Digital Solutions (TDS). These services are delivered through various departments within TDS. The purpose of this work is to procure customer-oriented, technical contractor personnel to supplement the National Gallery’s information technology staff supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 User Services/Helpdesk support for endpoint computing and end-user services.
Responsibilities/Duties: - Work with end users to identify and deliver required Windows equipment and peripherals.
- Install, configure, test, maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware.
- Perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex PC problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware solutions, including off-site repair as needed.
- Accurately document instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal.
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, pages, and/or e-mails regarding PC and/or hardware problems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge base articles of hardware and equipment configurations drivers, and imaging.
Qualifications: - Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to work with components, and peripheral accessories.
- Ability to conduct research into PC issues and products as required.
- Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.
- Self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a busy environment.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Strong customer-service skills.
Education/Certifications: - A+ certification preferred.
