- 100% remote work
- Friendly colleagues
- Endless learning opportunities?
Do you excel at:
- Building strong client relationships
- Supervising bookkeeping for small businesses?
If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
We are on the lookout for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you'll oversee bookkeeping services for a portfolio of clients. Note that you won't be required to handle tax work or basic bookkeeping (you'll be supervising the bookkeepers). While management experience is valuable, it is not necessary, though there are opportunities for those interested in management roles.
Who We Are:
We are an ambitious, innovative accounting and bookkeeping startup with operations in five countries. We are dedicated to fostering a supportive and dynamic work environment where you can grow and thrive.
What You'll Do:
As a Senior Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Setting Up Services for New Clients: You'll connect with clients to understand their needs and coordinate with a team of international bookkeepers to get services up and running. Your role will involve being a high-level accounting resource, managing client communication, and building a strong personal rapport with clients.
- Supervising Ongoing Services: After the initial setup, you'll continue to supervise and support the bookkeepers for those same clients.
- Exploring New Opportunities: As our startup evolves, you may have the chance to take on various roles such as focusing solely on new service setups, ongoing supervision, industry-specific specialization, or management, among others.
Requirements:
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced: You should have a strong background in accounting, either from working in-house or at an accounting/bookkeeping firm. Relevant titles might include Controller, Finance Manager, Full Charge Bookkeeper, Director of Accounting, VP of Finance, CFO, or Senior Accountant. While management experience is a plus, it's not a must-have. Hands-on experience with QuickBooks is essential.
- Knowledgeable: A degree in accounting or a related field is preferred, though not strictly required. CPA or ProAdvisor certifications are a plus but not necessary.
- Highly Organized: This role requires juggling multiple clients and coordinating a diverse team of bookkeepers. Exceptional organizational and time management skills are crucial.
- Great at Building Relationships: You'll need to establish a personal connection with clients and become a trusted advisor. A friendly, positive attitude is key.
- A Great Communicator: As the client's primary point of contact, excellent professional communication skills are essential. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
- Tech-Savvy: Comfort with computers and the ability to quickly learn new systems and tools are important. Excel expertise is preferred, and experience with QuickBooks Online or Desktop is required. Familiarity with other accounting software, like Xero or NetSuite, is helpful but not necessary.
- Adaptable and a Fast Learner: Each client is unique, and you'll need to be comfortable diving in and figuring things out. If you enjoy finding creative solutions to new challenges, you might be a perfect fit for this role.

- Flexible schedule
- Health insurance
- Professional development assistance
- Work-from-home option
- Simple IRA with employer matching after 2 years
- Starting PTO of 20 days for full-time employees
