Job Description

Pay Grade/Pay Range:   Minimum: $15.00 - Midpoint: $17.26 (Hourly N1)

Department/Organization: 504303 - Recycling

Normal Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 7:30am to 4:30pm

Job Summary:  The Recycling Worker deposits and collects all recyclable materials on the University of Alabama campus. Aids in the transportation of all materials to appropriate private recycling collection centers and all record keeping and reporting of recycling activities.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  Must be able to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Final candidates must submit to and successfully pass a post-offer drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications:  Have advanced knowledge in customer service experience. Have knowledge with bar coding and working with inventory levels. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer). Have the ability to work without consistent supervision and follow up. Have a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to excellence.
