What we are looking for - Commercial Interior Designer or Architect with 6-12 years of experience , ideally with experience in workplace design, although other specialties will be considered.
- This position is for either our Washington, DC or Richmond Virginia offices. 100% remote candidates will not be considered.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or Architecture.
- Exhibits excellent technical sophistication.
- Mastery interior construction best practices, detailing and drawing set production
- Extensive IBC, ADA, BOMA, FHA, and accessibility knowledge with ability to apply information to detailed construction documents
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC, Maryland and Virginia codes and IBC building codes and regulation
- The ability to provide quality control and assurance for construction documentation
- Experience in construction document preparation, bid review, construction administration and field observation in commercial interior design projects
- Is self-starting, energetic, and creative
- Excellent Revit and working knowledge of Enscape, Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Coordinates between architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural, plumbing, and lighting consultants
- Participate in or lead Quality Control/Quality Assurance efforts for interiors. You will be a BIM360/ Revit resource for the studio in addition to project work.
- Manages project timelines, schedules, resources, and project budget
- Resolves complex technical/design issues and provides guidance to team and consultants
- Participates in and leads team discussions on technical and other project related issues
- Maintains client relationships while multi-tasking/working on multiple projects
- Leads and mentors younger staff
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Valid work permit (USA)
- Project travel may be required.
What we prefer - LEED and/or WELL accreditation
- NCIDQ Certification or Architectural Licensure
- Experience with Microsoft Project, Bluebeam, Deltek, PlanGrid, Newforma and Procore
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates leadership and experience with broad, cross-disciplinary project teams
- Ability to contribute to AND lead a team through the conceptual, schematic, design development, construction documents, specifications, construction administration, and FF&E phases
- Proficient in quality control reviews
