Job Description

As a Produce Clerk at Value Center Marketplace, you will be responsible for ensuring the fresh produce section of a grocery store or supermarket is well-stocked, organized, and visually appealing to customers. This position involves receiving and inspecting deliveries of fruits, vegetables, and other fresh produce, as well as maintaining the quality and freshness of these items on the sales floor. The Produce Clerk provides customer service by assisting with product selection, answering questions, and ensuring the produce section meets the store's quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the organization and presentation of produce shelves, ensuring products are properly arranged and easily accessible for customers.

• Oversee the organization and cleanliness of the backroom, ensuring stock is efficiently stored and ready for restocking.

• Manage returns and exchanges of goods, ensuring accurate processing and proper handling of products.

• Monitor product expiration dates and manage inventory to ensure the freshest products are available to customers.

• Uphold store cleanliness and orderliness, adhering to all health and safety standards.

• Report any damaged or compromised goods promptly to management to minimize product loss.

• Collaborate with team members across departments to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in warehouse or retail environments is preferred, but not required.

• Strong understanding of product rotation and inventory management.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.

• Attention to detail when packing groceries and handling returns.

• Friendly and approachable demeanor.

• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

• Weekends and holidays are mandatory as they are Value Center's busiest times.

Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications and discussed during the interview.
