Printing Press Operator - 2 Positions Available
2nd Shift - 4p-12a
3rd Shift - 12a-8a Join our Sheetfed Press Department where you will be in charge of your own highly automated and technical piece of equipment. Make brochures, booklets, catalogs and magazines come to life by printing in full color on a variety of papers at a high rate of speed! On the Job Training is provided so no print experience is necessary, however equipment operation and a mechanical aptitude will be helpful. Summary This position functions as the Sheetfed Press Operator. Responsible for the daily workflow schedule set by the department manager, quality control, and machine maintenance. A very high level of print quality is expected from each job printed, as well as, meeting and exceeding production standards. The role also includes working with others in the company to provide the highest level of customer service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Manage the crew to reach company’s customer service, profit, sales, and growth goals through waste control and product quality.
- Perform job setups including color setting and registration.
- Fold, trim, and assure the accuracy of each form before printing.
- Read and clearly understand press operation manuals and follow the guidelines set.
- Must have the ability to trouble shoot press problems on the run and during down time.
- Provide reports to the shift supervisor regarding crew performance and job progress.
- Maintain an organized and clean workstation.
- Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and troubleshooting on equipment.
- Meet production standards set for each job and ensure the highest level of quality is achieved.
- Follow department operational policies and procedures.
- Work in a team environment with other employees to enhance customer service and efficiency.
- Display a positive attitude towards finishing jobs, the crew, the company, and themselves.
- Enforce safety regulations.
- Perform all other duties assigned and those that may be necessary to achieve company and departmental goals.

Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required. Printing/Finishing experience a plus, but not necessary. On-the-job training provided.
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills Ability to apply basic math concepts (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Physical and Working Conditions The job is performed in a manufacturing facility with exposure to large equipment, noise, and materials related to the printing process. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally bend, stoop or kneel.
- Ability to use hands and arms to type, reach, handle or feel.
- Ability to regularly lift/move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.
