The Stanford Department of Pediatrics is committed to advancing the health of infants, children, and adolescents through innovative medical care, research, education, training, and advocacy. With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties, our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/ Stanford Medicine Children’s Health is recruiting board certified/eligible pediatricians with strong clinical skills in the hospital care of sick newborns and a special interest in neonatal medicine .

We currently have openings for full-time, part-time, and moonlighting positions to join the Division as Clinical Instructors, Clinical Assistant Professors, Clinical Associate Professors, or Clinical Professors in the Clinician Educator Line. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities include in-house neonatal coverage in a variety of roles and locations within our institution, including Lucile Packard Children's Hospital in Palo Alto, Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, and El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. Clinical responsibilities may be divided among the various locations and includes coverage of the Delivery Room, Well Newborn Nursery, Level II Intermediate Care Nursery, and/or a Level III NICU. In addition, candidates will also have opportunities to pursue a variety of academic and professional development activities, including engaging in resident and medical student education at Stanford, as well as participating in various clinical and quality improvement initiatives involving newborn care.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Instructor: $213,000 - $240,000

Clinical Assistant Professor: $251,000 - $278,000

Clinical Associate Professor: $296,000 - $323,000

Clinical Professor: $342,000 - $387,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine’s faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs.
