Job Description

We are looking for a talented and creative Motion Graphic Designer with 2D animation experience to join our clients' dynamic team on a freelance basis to help enhance their digital content and educational materials. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and a keen eye for detail, contributing to various projects that support the learning experiences of students across the district.

This role is an ad-hoc freelance and fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere. We are only considering current US citizens at this time.

Motion Graphic Designer Responsibilities:

• Create high-quality 2D motion graphics and animations for various projects, including educational videos, presentations, social media content and digital campaigns
• Collaborate with the content development team to understand project requirements and deliver creative solutions that align with educational goals and branding guidelines
• Develop storyboards and visual concepts to effectively communicate ideas and workflows
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in motion graphics and 2D animation 

Motion Graphic Design Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Motion Graphic Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing 2D animation projects
• Proficiency in industry-standard animation and design software such as Adobe After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop and other relevant tools
• Strong understanding of animation principles, storytelling and visual design
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a remote team
• Experience working on educational content is a plus
• Chicago-based applicants preferred but not required
