The purpose of the Office of Health Promotion (OHP) is to contribute to a culture of wellbeing at UMBC by providing evidence-informed health promotion, resources, skills and support that are responsive to the needs of our community. We contribute to fostering a campus community that supports and empowers individuals to make healthy lifestyle choices at UMBC and beyond.
Position Overview:
As a member of the Division of Student Affairs and the Office of Health Promotion, the person filling this position will contribute to the mission by working with students to meet the Divisional priorities. This is accomplished through health education, health communications, and prevention programming initiatives conducted through the Office of Health Promotion. Students who participate in these initiatives learn essential skills about their health and wellbeing as it relates to academic and life-long success. Educational areas of interest include alcohol, tobacco and other drugs, sexual and reproductive health, nutrition, stress management, mental health promotion and healthy relationships.
