Job Summary: The National Gallery of Art is an art museum in Washington, D.C. The Gallery serves the nation by welcoming all people to explore and experience art, creativity, and our shared humanity. The National Gallery uses Information Technology (IT) in the execution of its mission. The information technology services are managed by Treasurer’s office of Digital Solutions (TDS). These services are delivered through various departments within TDS. The purpose of this work is to procure customer-oriented, technical contractor personnel to supplement the National Gallery’s information technology staff supporting Tier 1 and Tier 2 User Services/Helpdesk support for endpoint computing and end-user services.
Responsibilities/Duties: - Assist with computer rollouts, tech refresh and software upgrades.
- Perform new user hardware setup.
- Implement hardware relocations and reclaims.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring software.
- Knowledge of network connectivity and protocols.
- Familiarity with computer components and peripherals.
- Assist with troubleshooting of software / hardware incidents.
- Ability to write knowledge base articles.
Qualifications: - Excellent customer service skills
- Working knowledge of computer and laptop hardware and peripherals, both Windows and Mac.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- High level of customer service orientation.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing technologies.
- Basic analytical and troubleshooting skills to install, repair and maintain various software and hardware.
Education/Certifications: - 2+ years of experience in the IT field.
