Information needed by policy makers to craft decisions. Strong writing, public speaking ability, and diplomatic skills are a must. A preferred candidate will live in Anchorage during the interim and participate in activities, representing the university, as they arise.

This position requires the person to testify in committee, prepare legislative material, speak in front of groups of students/alumni/staff/faculty, and help write weekly capital reports for thousands of our UA family across the state.
Do you like going to functions and learning new things? Great! This is not a 9-5 position. Many times you’ll be attending events that may not be during the normal working day. You’re in the “people business” and you’ll need to be out there with the people.

Minimum Qualifications:
At least 2 years of legislative experience. A 4-year degree or comparable experience.
Position Details:
This position is located in Anchorage, Alaska. However, during the legislative session, from January to mid-May, you’ll be based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska at 227 4th Street in Juneau (right next to the Capitol). Flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements will be considered during the interim. This is a full-time, exempt staff position complete with both a competitive salary and full employee benefits package . UA provides a generous compensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental, and vision care coverage. New hires will be placed on the UA Staff Salary Schedule , Grade 81, based on education and experience.
