Summary

The Global Travel Manager will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company’s global travel strategy, ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and compliant travel operations. This role will manage relationships with travel suppliers and internal stakeholders, implement and manage corporate travel policies, and optimize travel programs to enhance employee experience and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in corporate travel management, supplier negotiations, and travel technology solutions, bringing strategic oversight to enhance the company’s global travel experience while balancing cost control and traveler satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and manage global travel policies to align with business needs and industry best practices.

  • Negotiate and maintain relationships with travel service providers, including airlines, hotels, rental car companies, and travel agencies.

  • Oversee global travel budgets and cost-saving initiatives while maintaining a high level of service.

  • Ensure compliance with corporate travel policies and global regulatory requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline travel processes and improve traveler experience.

  • Implement and manage travel management systems and reporting tools for real-time data analysis and cost tracking.

  • Monitor and assess emerging travel trends, risks, and innovations to enhance the company’s travel program.

  • Provide guidance and support for employees regarding travel policies, booking procedures, and expense reporting.

  • Manage travel-related risk and crisis response, ensuring traveler safety and security in coordination with HR and risk management teams.

  • Manage a small team with responsibilities in both commercial travel and corporate aviation.

Typical Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Travel Management, Hospitality, or a related field.

Relevant Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in global travel management, travel procurement, or corporate travel operations.
  • Strong knowledge of global travel booking systems, regulations, visa requirements, expense management platforms, and industry trends.
  • Proven experience in supplier contract negotiations and vendor management.
  • Proficiency in travel management software and expense reporting tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, global environment with multiple stakeholders.

Preferred Certifications

  • Global Travel Professional (GTP) Certification
  • Certified Corporate Travel Executive (CCTE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
