Position Overview: Finance Associate As a Finance Associate, you will play a critical role in driving the financial success and strategic decision-making of our organization. This role combines analytical expertise, strategic thinking, and effective communication to provide key insights into the company's financial performance. As a member of the finance team, you will be instrumental in shaping financial strategies, budgeting, forecasting, and driving cost optimization initiatives. The role will report to the VP of Finance.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Planning:
- Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Contribute to the overall strategic planning process by providing financial insights and recommendations.
Budgeting and Forecasting: - Help lead the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to ensure alignment with business plans and financial goals.
- Develop and manage comprehensive financial forecasts, incorporating various scenarios to support strategic decision-making.
Variance Analysis: - Conduct detailed variance analysis to identify key drivers impacting financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to management based on variance analysis.
Financial Modeling: - Develop and maintain complex financial models to support strategic initiatives, scenario analysis, and long-term financial planning.
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data used in model and analyses.
Forecast Accuracy and Monitoring: - Monitor and assess the accuracy of financial forecasts, adjusting projections as needed based on market trends and business developments.
- Implement improvements to forecasting process to enhance precision and reliability.
Cost Optimization: - Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements across different business functions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cost-savings initiatives while maintaining operational excellence.
Reporting and Communication: - Prepare and present clear and concise financial reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with the data team to define and document data requirements for financial reporting.
- Communicate complex financial concepts in a comprehensive manner, forecasting a shared understanding of financial performance.
Required Qualifications and Skills: - Accounting/Finance degree.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- 2-4+ years of professional experience in investment banking or corporate finance.
- Excellent excel skills and detailed financial modeling experience.
- Ability to analyze large data sets to gain business insights to support decision making and forecasting; troubleshoot and problem solve with incomplete datasets or information.
- Intellectual curiosity and ability to switch gears in an ever-changing, dynamic environment.
Location: - Hybrid- NYC; Metropolitan Area
Compensation and Benefits: - Salary Range : $80,000 - $90,000 annually. In accordance with New York’s Pay Transparency Law, we are committed to providing clear and accessible information about the compensation for this role. The listed salary range reflects the base pay for this position. Actual compensation will be determined based on relevant experience, education, and qualifications. Additional compensation may include bonuses or equity, as applicable.
