Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work with low to medium complexity as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines. Each day, you will plan and execute work on a first-time right approach with customers. You will also showcase your expertise by displaying a clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in your own area of responsibility.This role is contributing to the Electrification Service division. You will be mainly accountable for:â
- Working with the customer (while on-site) to identify opportunities to improve the customerâs operations and eliminate pain points.â
- Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products.â
- Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities.â
- Troubleshooting equipment/process failures, requesting proactive corrective actions, and making recommendations to avoid such issues in the future.
Qualifications For The Role - Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (OR a High School Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of technical work experience)
- Minimum of 2 years of field engineering experience
- Ability and willingness to travel approximately 50-60% as required. Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid passport and driver's license.
- Technical skills in testing of power distribution and delivery to include Low Voltage and Medium Voltage Breakers, Switchgear, Relays and Transformers. Experience in the repair and refurbishment of LV and MV circuit breakers (OEM equipment such as Siemens, GE, ABB, SquareD, Multilin relays, and Schweitzer Relays). PLC experience is a plus.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
