The Director, U.S. Policy will support the U.S. Policy & Analytics team, the Federal Government Affairs team and the State Government Affairs team by monitoring, tracking, and analyzing key U.S. federal and state public policy issues that could impact AbbVie and the patients we serve.
The Director will be the lead within the U.S. Policy & Analytics team for all federal and state level legislative and regulatory developments related to commercial health insurance and Medicaid. Lead on state legislative drug pricing trends, including Prescription Drug Affordabiltiy Boards (PDAB) and state 340B-related issues. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine the impact of proposed policies on AbbVie, guide development of policy positions, and work with the Federal and State Government Affairs team to develop strategies to mitigate negative policies and advance proactive policies, informed by a deep understanding of business priorities and strategy. Identify emerging federal and state policy trends of interest to AbbVie and develop recommendations on how to prepare for threats and opportunities.
The Director will be responsible for communicating changes in policies, trends, and/or other significant developments at the federal level and in the states to key internal stakeholders and co-developing strategies with internal colleagues to support our business objectives. Support the Federal and State Government Affairs team in developing advocacy materials and messages that clearly articulate AbbVie’s position and/or strong counter arguments. Act as the strategic partner to senior leaders in the organization leading Federal Government Affairs, State Government Affairs, Global Policy & U.S. Access Strategies, Public Affairs, Market Access and Legal work focused on federal and state policy issues. Set the federal and state policy priorities and strategically engage partners to generate enterprise-wide support and resources necessary to accomplish our goals.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
