The Opportunity
As the Director of Retirement Income, you will lead teams that support members with annuities and other retirement income products. This role involves overseeing multiple teams of specialists, ensuring they provide the right solutions for members. You'll analyze workflows, integrate resources, and make improvements to enhance operations. Your efforts will also help develop programs to optimize member acquisition and relationship-building while ensuring compliance with all policies and regulatory requirements.
This position offers a flexible work environment, with a requirement to be in the office four days a week. It is based in San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Tampa, FL; Colorado Springs, CO; or Plano, TX. Please note, relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What You'll Do:
Lead and develop teams, including managers, sales consultants, and process owners, to improve leadership, coaching, and operational planning.
Research and analyze strategic initiatives, offering recommendations for improvement.
Organize and streamline resources and systems for Retirement Income teams to ensure effective workflows.
Drive continuous improvements by implementing changes that enhance operational efficiency.
Develop performance standards and processes for the Retirement Income department.
Identify obstacles, champion change, and remove barriers to success.
Coordinate and implement various programs, projects, and initiatives.
In partnership with legal and compliance teams, provide support in responding to regulatory inquiries and audits.
Ensure all risks associated with business activities are identified, monitored, and controlled according to policies and procedures.
What You Have:
Bachelor's degree or 12 years of related experience in financial services operations (in addition to the minimum experience required).
Ability to obtain necessary licenses (Life/Health) and any required appointments within 90 days of entering the role.
Required maintenance of FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) licenses within 90 days.
8+ years of relevant experience in financial services operations, including process improvement and business analysis.
4+ years of team lead or management experience with coaching and development responsibilities in a team-based environment.
Knowledge of financial products, particularly life/health insurance and retirement income.
What Sets You Apart:
Military experience, either personally or as a spouse/domestic partner.
Active FINRA Series 7, 66 (or 63 and 65), 24, and 51 (or 53) licenses.
Life and Health (Group 1) license.
MBA or master's degree in finance or business.
CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®) designation.
10+ years of experience in Retirement Planning or Annuities.
5+ years of experience leading a team of investment advisors.
3+ years of leadership experience managing other managers.
RICP (Retirement Income Certified Professional) Designation.
Experience managing a team of investment advisors in a call center environment.

Compensation: Salary range: $114,080 - $218,030, based on experience and location. Pay incentives may also apply based on performance.
