Job Description

Our client, a large music streaming service in San Francisco, is looking for a Direct Marketing Manager with a specialized focus on email and push programs for a 10-month hybrid contract position. In this position, you will play a pivotal role in driving global outbound marketing strategies for engagement, newsletters, and churn reduction. Your responsibilities will encompass crafting and executing comprehensive strategies, conducting rigorous testing methodologies, and overseeing the implementation of campaigns across email and push platforms. With a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of consumer behavior, you will collaborate cross-functionally to optimize performance metrics and drive impactful results. This is a 10-month contract position that requires 2-3 days/week onsite in San Francisco.

  • Develop and execute global outbound marketing strategies specifically focusing on email and push programs.
  • Conduct thorough testing and optimization of campaigns to enhance engagement, conversion rates, and overall performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams including product, design, and analytics to ensure alignment of messaging and objectives.
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of campaigns, from conceptualization and segmentation to deployment and performance analysis.
  • Implement best practices and stay abreast of industry trends to continuously improve campaign effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Lead initiatives to reduce churn and increase customer retention through targeted email and push programs.
  • Foster strong relationships with external partners such as agencies and vendors to drive innovation and stay ahead of the competition.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in direct marketing with a strong emphasis on email and push programs, preferably with large tech companies.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing global marketing strategies that drive engagement and conversion.
  • Proficiency in marketing automation platforms (e.g., Marketo, HubSpot) and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and derive actionable insights.
  • Strong project management abilities with the capacity to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and influence stakeholders.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for innovation and a willingness to experiment with new approaches.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and best practices in email marketing.
  • Prior experience working for big tech companies is a significant advantage.
