Job Description

The CARF Credentialing Specialist is responsible for managing and coordinating the credentialing and accreditation process in accordance with CARF standards. This role ensures the organization maintains compliance, prepares for accreditation surveys, and continuously improves service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, submission, and management of all documentation required for CARF accreditation.
  • Coordinate and lead the organization through CARF surveys and audits.
  • Ensure compliance with CARF standards and implement necessary changes.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance and improvement plans.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure ongoing compliance with CARF standards.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports on quality metrics and outcomes.
  • Manage the credentialing and re-credentialing process for staff and programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of credentials and ensure timely renewals.
  • Verify staff qualifications and licensures.
  • Develop and disseminate educational materials related to CARF accreditation.
  • Assist in the development and updating of policies and procedures to ensure they meet CARF standards.
  • Collaborate with department heads to implement and maintain policies.
  • Help re-write employee handbook, SOP, and MOP.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, social work, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • Master’s degree (preferred).
  • Experience in accreditation, credentialing, or quality assurance, preferably within a non-profit or healthcare setting.
  • Experience with CARF accreditation processes is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of CARF standards and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
