The Role: Consumer Finance Associate | Remote (New York or New Jersey)
We are seeking a talented Consumer Finance Associate to join a prominent national law firm in its virtual office, The Link. This role offers the opportunity to manage significant litigation and arbitration proceedings for financial institutions while collaborating with a team of legal experts within the Financial Services & Capital Markets business unit.

In this position, you will:

  • Represent financial institutions in litigation and arbitration proceedings at the state, federal, and appellate levels.
  • Navigate complex cases involving mortgage servicing litigation, the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act (FDCPA), the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), and state consumer protection acts.
  • Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and briefs with precision and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop innovative legal strategies tailored to client needs.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on compliance with financial and consumer protection laws.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication and alignment on case strategies and outcomes.

Candidate Profile

Experience and Expertise

  • Years of Practice: Minimum of 3 years of experience in consumer finance litigation and arbitration.
  • Litigation Background: Proven ability to handle cases at state, federal, and appellate levels, with experience in mortgage servicing litigation and consumer protection laws.

Educational Credentials

  • Juris Doctor (JD): Degree from an accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Bar Membership: Active New York or New Jersey bar license, with residency in the corresponding state.
