This position is full-time, exempt and is partially covered under the St. Joseph County Employee Policy Manual and partially covered under the Office Policies of the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office. 

Essential Functions: 

This position provides clerical support to the Child Support Division. This position is the entry-level position for Caseworker. 

Supervisor:  Support Unit Supervisor

Duties: Prepare legal papers and correspondence, copy documents pertinent to pending cases; manage calendars and reminders to meet deadlines; retrieve court dockets and other necessary court records; file correspondence and legal documents in office filing system and with appropriate courts or offices; provide front desk/receptionist/file room coverage when needed; and perform other duties as assigned. Caseworkers may eventually be assigned a specific caseload to manage and monitor or they may be trained to assist with additional projects in order to improve office performance and efficiency. This is a full-time position.

Qualifications: Skills: Strong customer service skills and positive team attitude, knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including proficiency with telephone, fax, copy machine, and computer. Must possess ability to establish priorities, work independently, and work with a high level of organization.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work history is preferred but not required
