Adelphi is looking to recruit a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to work at an institution of higher learning in Charleston, South Carolina. The CMA will attend to a student population of Young Adults to Middle Age Adults.

Requirements:
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with additional Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification.
• Successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide Training Program.
• Previous experience as a CNA or in a similar healthcare support role is preferred.

Responsibilities:
• The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) will be responsible for safely administering prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Assists with basic patient care tasks, maintains accurate records, and follows established procedures to ensure the well-being of patients.
• Administer medications (oral, topical, and sometimes injections) to patients as prescribed by their healthcare provider.
• Ensure correct dosage and timing, as outlined in the patient’s care plan.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, including side effects, potential interactions, and proper administration methods.
• Accurately document all administered medications in patient charts or electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Report any medication errors, patient refusals, or adverse reactions immediately to the supervising nurse.
• Record any changes in the patient's condition related to medication administration.
• Observe patients for side effects or reactions after administering medications.
• Monitor vital signs as required and report any changes or concerns to the supervising nurse.
• Provide patients with information about their medications, including usage, side effects, and potential drug interactions.
• Assist nurses and other healthcare professionals in basic patient care tasks, such as hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and checking vital signs.
