The State of New Hampshire, Department of Natural and Cultural Resources, Division of Parks and Recreation has a full-time vacancy located at Hampton Beach, New Hampshire for Building and Grounds Maintenance Technician.
Summary:
Coordinates, supervises and performs plant and maintenance operations in the Seacoast Region which consists of historic sites, ocean front beaches, buildings and grounds, water systems and a wastewater treatment plant.
Responsibilities:
Assists the Park Manager IV and Plant Maintenance Engineer II with duties related to daily operations, including responding to emergency system failures. Serves as lead maintenance supervisor in absence of Plant Maintenance Engineer II.
Supervises and assists in all building plumbing, electrical, or mechanical maintenance; assigns contractors, laborers and mechanics to maintenance projects and reviews work for adherence to established standards. Interacts with contractors to ensure adequate communication and compliance.
Safely operates and assists in maintaining vehicles and equipment such as plow trucks, tractors, beach rakes, skid steers, and other vehicles, including responding to emergency events such as storms.
Develops solutions to work problems and maintains adherence to trades and technical standards for carpentry, plumbing, electric, alarm systems, sprinkler systems, elevators, etc. and assures compliance with standard fire codes, system inspections, and related items.
Analyzes, evaluates, and ensures highest possible compliance with safety procedures and policies. Oversees staff for compliance with safety policies.
Prepares local purchase orders and controls issuance of equipment, supplies, and materials to be used in building maintenance and plant operations, and oversees projects through completion.
Recommends modifications in existing operation systems to Plant Maintenance Engineer II.

18 Months of additional relevant experience = Associate's degree
36 Months of additional relevant experience = Bachelor's degree
54 Months of additional relevant experience = Master's degree
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Completion of high school, G.E.D. or its equivalent, plus two years of technical training or education in engineering or building trades. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
Experience: Three years' experience in maintenance and repair or construction of buildings or facilities including one year in a supervisory capacity. Each additional year of approved work experience may be substituted for one year of required formal education.
License/Certification: Possession of a valid driver's license and/or access to transportation for statewide travel.
