Job Description
We are looking for a new member to join our bread production team at Winner! As our business expands we are looking for someone with good energy who thrives in a creative and collaborative environment. Availability to work early mornings and weekends is required.
KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Basic knowledge and experience of bakery principles of bread, including mixing dough, monitoring proofing, shaping, and baking-off
- Working knowledge of naturally leavened products and procedures
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, weekends, and some holidays
- Ability to accurately weigh exact amounts in both English & Metric systems
- Ensure cleanliness & sanitation protocols are followed, and maintain the organization of all kitchen work spaces
- Collect and maintain records of all mandated logs, discussing discrepancies with staff and senior management, and striving to solve any issues that arise
- Maintaining an efficient and safe work environment for all staff, reporting maintenance issues to HQ as needed
- Receive goods, ensuring Receiving Protocols are followed and documented accordingly
- Assist with organizing inventory, ensuring accuracy and FIFOing practices are followed
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing 10 – 30 pounds on a regular basis and up to 50 pounds on a regular (or occasional basis)
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the property. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
- Climbing steps regularly
Preferred Experience and Character:
- 3 years of experience bread baking, including using baking machinery
- Excellent communication and hospitality skills, a person who wants to be part of this team, and build a better business
- Detail oriented mind geared for precision work
- Pride in spreading the WINNER brand and ethos
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and spend 8+ hours standing
- Available to work some evenings and weekends
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Ability to converse in, or understand Spanish is a bonus!
- Food Handlers’ Certification as well as general knowledge of food safety standards & handling requirements in the states in which our business operates is also a bonus
